Meet the Doctor and Our Team
Dr. Jahanmir (Dr. J) was born in New York and grew up in Maryland. She attended the Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania, graduating with honors in 1997, with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 2001, she graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. After dental school, Dr. Jahanmir completed two additional years of specialty training, in Pediatric Dentistry, at the Children’s Hospital Boston/Harvard School of Dental Medicine. In 2003, Dr. Jahanmir returned to Maryland to practice Pediatric Dentistry. In addition to working in private practice, Dr. Jahanmir also serves as a part time clinical instructor at the Children’s National Medical Center Pediatric Dental Residency Program.
In September 2006, Dr. Jahanmir completed her board certification in Pediatric Dentistry and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Jahanmir is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Maryland State Dental Association.
In addition to speaking English, Dr. Jahanmir also speaks Spanish and Farsi. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, photography, skiing, swimming, and visiting/volunteering at an orphanage in Honduras.
Janice Lee Finizio
Janice Lee Finizio, our dental hygienist, was born in New Jersey and raised in Maryland. J.Lee attended Mount Saint Mary’s University where she majored in Sociology, minored in Psychology and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985. J.Lee completed her Dental Hygiene Degree at Northern Virginia Community College in 1987. She has been practicing in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area for more than 25 years and joined our practice in the Fall of 2008. J. Lee is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and the Vice President of the Montgomery County component of the Maryland Dental Hygiene Association. She currently resides in Rockville with her Great Danes.
Marjan Hekmat, our dental hygienist, was born in Iran and moved to the United States at the age of 21. She attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a dental hygiene degree in 2005. Marjan has been practicing in Maryland since 2008 and joined our practice in the summer of 2012. Marjan has a passion for working with children and takes great pride in giving her patients a great smile.
Susan Aguirre, our administrative assistant, was born in El Salvador and moved to the United States after her first birthday. Susan graduated from Bell Multicultural High School in Washington, D.C. in 1994. For the past 22 years, Susan has been working in the medical administrative field. In addition to working at the Washington Free Clinic–a non-profit organization providing medical services to the low income, uninsured community, Susan has spent one year working at an Obstetrics practice and fourteen years working at an Orthopedic practice. Susan joined our practice in November 2016. Susan is fluent in both English and Spanish and currently resides in Laurel, Maryland with her 2 children.
Omar Amador, our dental assistant, was born in Honduras and moved to the United States in 1990. Omar studied Human Resources at Montgomery College. He then went on to obtain his dental radiation technologist license and began dental assisting full time in pediatric dentistry in 2009. Omar joined our practice in January 2012. He is fluent in English and Spanish and currently resides in Gaithersburg with his wife and daughters.
Sousan Rismani, our dental assistant, was born in Iran and studied Child Psychology at Azad University in Tehran. Sousan moved to the United States in 2007 and in 2008 attended the DATS dental assisting training program in Germantown. Upon graduating, Sousan began working as a dental assistant and joined our practice in November 2013. Sousan has two sons, lives in Rockville, and really enjoys working with children.
